Factions Reset April 2021
Factions reset is finally here! Due to a few last-minute bugs (player power, wilderness, etc) we had to delay reset a bit :( That being said the are quite a few changes, you should start by checking out new, updated rules for the Factions server: https://www.extremecraft.net/rules/details/
There are also some new features, over the past few days we already added SandBots, which can now be used on Factions, OpFactions, and Cannoning server. The changes on Factions server...
We've updated FTOP and added Outposts that can be blown up or overclaimed. Outposts spawn with End Crystals that are now included in FTOP. Of course, End Crystals can be blown. Outposts will start spawning in Wilderness once the grace period is over.
Economy and crates were also updated, while Envoy rewards will be changed and updated every now and then. Each Faction now has its own TNT Bank and we added TNT Bank Tool to make your life easier. Last but not least Armor stand/Entity explosions were fixed!

OpFactions reset 2021
Finally... we did it! It took a bit longer than initially planned, but we wanted to actually fix all the issues with cannons (and lag) that were present on ExtremeCraft for too long. We're also happy to finally announce TNT cannons should now behave as expected on Factions, OpFactions and Cannoning.
We're also planning on adding new features to Cannoning server that should help with testing and debugging cannons, for example, an option to upload schem files, etc.
With all the bugfixes and changes, we also had to change Obsidian Destroyer (check out /od durabilities) and update F TOP (/f topinfo). Did I mention there's /tnttoggle command too now?
There are still some minor bugfixes we're working on, mostly cosmetics and we're open to ideas and suggestions on how we should implement SandBot.
New Bedwars and Minigames Reset
Quick tl;dr for those who won't bother reading Minigames reset and New BedWars release tomorrow 31st January
For all my other 2 readers who care about me here's what's changed. This time around we wanted to simplify things, we removed lot of gadgets and upgrades that nobody liked or that were just too complicated, the ones who stayed got several balance and bug fixes as well.
BedWars has always been one of our least p2w servers and starting from this update it will go full free2win, with this we will also replace the coupons at the end of the seasons with unique cosmetics that you get to keep forever.
This is a new direction we intend to take for all the minigames we will replace with our own in the future, prioritizing a fair game experience for everyone. The shop NPC has been chopped in half and you now have 2 of them.
PvP was the focus this time around and our builders (specially gablalon :tada:) worked hard to make our maps more enjoyable aiming for a better game experience.
They're now more organized, moderately sized and less dispersive
You will now be able to see who's the best player of all time. Ever. You know the one that you will never reach so you will feel bad. The old season leaderboard will also be available of course.
A load of new cosmetics were added: win effects, bed break effects, lobby gadgets/cosmetics and other cool stuff

One of the highlights of this update will be the new level system: you will earn XP by playing and doing quests, the more time you play and win and the more XP you will get.
Every 1,000 XP you will rankup, don't miss out the prestige ranks that you unlock after a certain amount of levels.
We wanted to give yet another chance to block traps, they are now more discrete when placed and can be placed anywhere in the map.
The list of changes is A LOT longer and if you are still reading this chances are you already followed the development in the #dev-live-updates channel in our Discord anyway :shrug:
This might be sad news for some of you who were hoping to see a revamp soon after but after some thought we decided to remove our EggWars server in favor of BedWars and the new update that we hope will still please as many people as possible, just give it a chance before judging and if you still don't like it we can still be friends.
We will instead focus on new gamemodes such as Spleef, Death/TNT run, Parkour and several other games we have planned and shortlisted since quite a while.
Discord Bot - Updates
We reworked almost from scratch one of the oldest projects we have, our beloved Discord bot :robot_face:
Among several bug fixes, and brand new bugs introduced, we also added a couple of extra features.
Automated events
The bot will now automatically detect when someone guesses the number in #guess-the-number chat and the reward will be handed out way quicker.This is also true for the #meme submissions, the monthly winners will be announced as soon as the month ends.
[NitroBooster] Title
After countless requests Nitro Boosters will now receive the [NitroBooster] title in game as long as they keep boosting, as soon as the boost runs out they'll lose the title as well.
Better rank comparison
Our rank comparison page has improved and looks a bit cleaner with tabs.It also includes a tab dedicated to Discord and what you get from each rank and from Nitro Boosting
As side unrelated note we also improved the readability of the light theme for the website.
Various Changes
There were a lot of changes, here are the ones that affect players directly:- Added VoteParty notifications, whenever a voteparty is about to start in a server you can get notified
- Usernames work as mentions in commands. You won't have to bother tagging people when issuing a command, for example /spank holliedce will work just fine
- New #numbersgame similar to our #wordsgame it works with number sequences
- Replaced unfunny /yomomma with generic /joke. Jokes are a little bit more funny now.
- Commands like /avatar and /stats don't require you to tag yourself anymore in order to get your own data
- /stats top will now have 3 leaderboards: chats, mentions and commands
- At 60 offences you get banned :tada:
- /remindme now supports removing reminders
- /relations now has more subcommands to manage your relations
- You can use /offe to see your own offences
- Banned/unverified members can't talk anymore in #nitroboosters bypassing the bans
- Fixed #role channel, you can now react to receive roles again
- More consistent permissions such as Nexus can now post images anywhere and not just in specific chats
- Added a couple extra rp commands
- /trends is now slightly less spammy
- Long /me messages will go in new line instead of becoming unreadably small
- /calc is now more accurate
- Bot answers were refreshed and changed almost entirely
The amount of changes is way longer than this but sadly for you they were more aimed to ease the Discord/Bot management for us and to update a now outdated codebase, the bot was made way back in 2016 and along the years Discord changed a lot.

That's about it, we're now done with major changes regarding Discord and we will now focus on improving our servers, mainly minigames, and releasing new stuff and resetting stuff :ok_hand:
Factions reset
Fireballs can now be used even if enemies are nearby, with that spawner drop rate was reduced from 90% to 70% which should prevent or at least penalize Factions that would raid their own spawners. Furthermore, lava and water can't be placed and won't flow 2 blocks around and above spawners, and of course, spawners can't be mined if enemies are nearby.
Chunks touching WorldBorder can't be overclaimed anymore and as usual, there's 7 days grace period in which overclaiming and explosions are disabled. Currently, ChunkRippers can't be used, this will be fixed after the next restart.
Useless items were removed from Crates and Envoy rewards and there were also many much-needed bugfixes and performance improvements (updated anti-phase, patched minecart/boat exploit, fixed nether portal handling, back, and logout location expiration, ...).

Survival reset
Kinda out of the blue but with all the players asking for it and all issues the old Survival server had, we finally did it! That being said there's a new spawn now, a new Economy that will actually allow players to set up player shops, warps, and such.
We also started rolling out claim plugin updates, players can now inspect block logs in their claims and more, you should really check out /claim command :) For all the players who used to use /claim to make claims, there's still /makeclaim command.

SkyBlock Reset
Despite everything we still managed to bring you some changes and extra features to keep things interesting.
New Levelling System
We came up with a solution that would let you level up and at the same time give you enough space to build a nice looking island with no compromises.
You now have /is addlevels, this will open an inventory in which you drop in Coal, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Redstone, Lapis, Quartz or Diamond blocks and they will be consumed and turned into points.
But don't worry the old system still works, if you place them on your island they will still count too towards the final island level.
New Spawn and PvP
Our builders provided us with a brand new Spawn and PvP arena (Credits: BlueberryDaFloor, PlotChat and DaddyOmer)
Scoreboard
SkyBlock will now have a sidebar showing useful info. You can toggle it in /sett if you like.
New Economy
We tried to come up with a new economy that hopefully will keep things a bit more interesting and aim for a less AFK-focused gameplay.New Starter Islands
You can select from a wide range of new starter islands based on different biomes when you start playing now.
Reworked Lottery
The old lottery was obviously too difficult, nobody would ever win so we reworked it entirely, we got rid of numbers and combinations and a winner is guaranteed to be selected twice a day.
This change is not strictly related to SkyBlock, it will come everywhere starting from tomorrow.
Lobby Reset and Updates
Server NPCs and Spawn
Following the lead of some other servers we also added NPCs that will connect you to all our gamemodes, this will make it easier for newcomers to have an overview of what we offer without going through the selector menu. Also they just look cool. (Thanks to Ivri22 for the edits and improvements to the spawn area)
Collectibles and Reset
We decided to rework the core of our lobby plugin and took the chance to start fresh and reset all the data of the past years so we could also apply some balance changes and fix some exploits that gave people infinite coins :thinking_face:So collectibles got reset too, we also changed locations so don't worry about the old coords you saved somewhere as they won't help you.
To spice up things a little bit this time the reward will be a little more fulfilling, in fact you will unlock the exclusive [LobbyExplorer] title that you will be able to use anywhere on the server, the title cannot be bought.
Snake Trains
We found and fixed the Snake Trains that never made it to the public lobby, you can ride them and they'll show you the entire map.
Bug Fixes
Several bugs affecting the lobby since its release were also fixed as well as some false kicks from the anticheat.BuildBattle, Pixel Art?

New Feedback System
We value your feedback so we added a new system that will occasionally ask you to rate maps between 1 and 5 whenever you end a game, this will help us tweak our buildings and figure out what you like and what you don't.
Minor Changes
- Using the snowbuilder will not get you stuck in glass and get you kicked for phase hacks
- New or updated maps will be prioritized over older maps and they'll be more common for the first week after release
- Auto start on match end, when a game starts a new one will automatically start after 5 seconds (this can be toggle off)
SurvivalGames
This is a bit offtopic but we will soon start testing our new SurvivalGames that will not be pay-to-win and will share the core used in our BedWarsWhile we set it up if you have any suggestion for kits (not locked behind ranks) we should be adding or features in general feel free to post them here and we will provide to check them out as soon as possible before the actual release.
SurvivalPlus, Testing 1.16.1
Who would have thought we'd come this far, as far as trying our best to update everything and manage to get a 1.16.1 server up and running for you to test.
The server is SurvivalPlus and it will be the spiritual successor of our current Testing, which will be closed in the next few weeks to be used for other projects such as new minigames and gamemodes.
SurvivalPlus will then be our guinea pigs of servers, receiving the latest cutting edge updates and changes that we're too afraid to release on other servers, the first biggest update we'll be testing will be the new Minecraft 1.16.1
How to join?
Simply use /go survivalplus (or /go survivalp to save 3 whole letters) while being on a 1.16 or 1.16.1 or 1.16.2 client.Attempting to join from an older client will NOT work and you will be redirected to the lobby.
Why?
We feel like it would be time to slowly transition to new versions and experiment with new features and content as we feel like 1.8 has been stagnating for way too long, this test is to see if the performances of the new version can keep up with our demands and gamemodes.Bro, what about PvP?
We added a plugin that reverts PvP to 1.8 style (spam click = you're good), however the blocking mechanic is missing so you will get to try out the new shield mechanics.Why is X command missing?
Updating plugins to versions past 1.12 is no joke, it requires time and effort and in the years we accumulated hundreds of thousands of lines of code that should be carefully checked and migrated.For this reason we decided to simply migrate first the core plugins that are required for a good survival experience, if this test turns out to be positive we'll be definitely start migrating everything else.
Where is the shop?
As stated in the previous section updating some plugins requires more time than one might expect, our shop plugin is one of them and for this reason we'll run this test without a proper economy. On the bright side the vote crate looks like this

YouTube Managers
I am once again asking for your support.
We're currently looking for capable people willing to manage our official YouTube channel in order to bring it back to life and actually start providing content for the community.
What is this role for?
As YouTube manager you'll have some simple but important tasks:- Plan the kind of videos/series of videos
- Plan when they should be published
- Instruct our content creators on what to do
- Review the videos
- Upload the videos (optional if your connection is too slow)
You basically come up with ideas, instruct people to do them and then review the result.
Requirements?
There's no requirement other than having good ideas and a somewhat good eye to figure out if a video looks good or not.You're not required to know how to edit, to have a good PC, to be able to record or anything like that, as long as you can plan and watch videos you're good to go.
Although all of this is not required you're clearly allowed to edit/record if you have the chance and feel like it.
How to apply?
The submissions are closed! Thanks to everyone who showed interest, we'll make sure to pick a good candidate in short times.
If you're interested then feel free to submit an application in which you "showcase" some ideas for videos and/or series of videos that you'd like to push.
If the sense of pride and accomplishment wouldn't suffice to convince you to apply we're handing out coupons for each video that gets published, you can then use them yourself, give them to your friends or sell them for real money :shrug:

Uncensored Minecraft Library
Reporters Without Borders’ Uncensored Minecraft Library is Going to Fundamentally Undermine Government Censorship of the Press.
Minecraft - the best selling single video game of all time - may be at the forefront of a clever new method to deliver banned media to those behind oppressive government firewalls.
When Reporters Without Borders came up with the idea to build an uncensored Minecraft library, they opened up a new venue allowing citizens to see news which they otherwise would not have. On top of that, adding the ability for users to add to it themselves provides for a broad, open-sourced, uncensored news platform that foreign governments are going to find difficult to block.
It’s easy enough for regimes to block access to websites and apps, especially when those who administrate the aforementioned platforms are the ones pushing out the content which governments hostile to a free press may disapprove. It’s another story when it comes to blocking a platform like Minecraft, which already has 300 million accounts in China.
The Chinese government could theoretically ban Minecraft in the country, but the company itself, which is owned by Microsoft, isn’t creating or even promoting “The Unlicensed Library”. It is highly unlikely Microsoft would prevent a popular NGO, such as Reporters Without Borders, from developing and maintaining the downloadable world required to access the library.
Less populous countries with less pull in the business world have an even smaller chance of preventing their citizens access to the library. It doesn’t take much to download a map and servers can be run on personal PCs. The only way to truly prevent access to it is to limit access to the internet. We’ve seen internet shutoffs in the past, proving governments are willing to go to those extremes if they deem it necessary.
What remains to be seen though is how the library, and those who maintain it, respond to the misinformation which will likely arise within its pixelated halls. The library itself may end up being a window into a world iron-fisted governments don’t want you to see, but the content in it will need to be vetted. If contributors to The Unlicensed Library can do that, it’s going to become a powerful resource for those looking to maintain freedom of the press.

We're currently testing Vote Parties on /go testingAll you have to do is join the testing server, /vote (or click here) and your vote will contribute to the total votes for the server.
Once the server reaches a certain amount of votes (currently 50 on testing) the vote party will start and everyone who voted will be rewarded, you could even receive legendary or spawner keys.

Starting from April build battles will start automatically the 1st of the month every 2 months (1st April, 1st June, 1st August etc) and they will last 2 weeks, you will know the theme from regular broadcasts that you will see in game and on Discord.
Also rewards will be a little bit better with higher value coupons and stuff, you'll see :shrug:
Discord Nitro Boosting
We decided to make Nitro Boosting on our Discord server (Click here) a little bit more worth it.

If you don't want to read too much and want the super simplified version then here:
Nitro users can decide to "boost" discord servers, once a server reaches enough boosts it will unlock special perks for everyone (i.e. more emoji slots)
From now on you will receive daily and automatically 1 extra vote reward (vote keys + money, skulls on creative)
We might add more rewards in the future if people appreciate it
Not just that, you also get to unlock special commands and perks for our Discord bot:
- /wordswith - Shows a list of words starting with something (to cheat in #wordsgame)
- /namecheck - Check the status of a MC name (availability,premium, EC last login, etc)
- /namehistory - Shows the name history of someone on EC (also /nh)
- /registrationdate - Shows the registration date of someone (also /regdate)
- /tocolor - Display a color based on name or hex code (i.e. /tocolor chartreuse)
- /me - Just like the one in game display a colored text (use /Me with capital M if you're on desktop)
- /afk - Set an AFK status
- /yesorno - Display a yes or no gif (also /yon)
- /russianroulette - Play the russian roulette without actually dying irl
- /roll - Generate a random number
- /mcskin - Show the MC skin of someone
- /identitygenerator - Generate a new identity (also /disguise)
- /give - Just like the command in game but without actual items
- /factoftheday - Show the fact of the day (also /fotd)
- /eightball - Ask something to the omniscient bot (also /8ball)
- /avatar - Display the Discord avatar of someone
- /acronym - Generate a possible meaning for an acronym (i.e. /acronym nxds)

How
- Get a plot on Creative (important: you can't use merged plots)
- Build alone or with friends
- Once you're done do /bb participate while standing on the plot
You have 2 weeks starting from now to submit.
Rewards

Theme
The theme this time will be: winter
You can build anything you like as long as it's winter themed, it's not a pixel art and it's not copied from somewhere/someone
Factions Reset and Changes
Alright it's been 6 months and it's time to reset again.
This time things will be a little bit different, we based new changes on the community feedback so let's see how it goes, here's what changed:
- New F TOP and /f topinfo, F TOP would only count blocks placed in your faction claims and the longer spawners are placed the higher the value
- Added /f topinfo that would display the list above with block values OR it would display specific spawner points if player is looking at one
- Remove permanent sponge (they'll be like vanilla now)
- Chesthoppers can now be blown up
- Per chunk spawner limit is now 120 (40 before)
- Weekly F TOP vouchers
- Fixed spawner watering mechanics
- Fixed ally/truce limits
- Fixed wall generators
- Removed Knockback from gear in crates

Website and Giveaways
This took a bit longer than anticipated but here it is.
New and fresh revamp of the new website with a proper dark mode and a proper light mode.
Here's a list of the main changes and improvements you'll see:
Dark Mode
The dark mode is now actually dark and not bluish/purple anymore. Several color correction changes have been applied as well only for you so that you won't be blinded anymore while surfing our website in the obscurity of your basements.

Discord Tutorial
As it turns out verifying on our Discord server for some is not as easy as one might expect so we made a tutorial specifically to help those people: click here
You might want to verify on Discord because doing so will give you access to all our chats and to Giveaways as well as Events.
Also because it's not very smart being in a server where you can't see any chat but you do you.
Public Suggestions
That's right, suggestions are now public for everyone to see and judge. You can upvote and downvote them so you can show others how much you hate them.
Notifications
The notifications will actually show you what is requiring your attention instead of just a number with no indication whatsoever of what you're supposed to answer to. You're welcome.

The staff page is not sad anymore, all the staff is organized in categories and there you can find all our Discord contacts if you want to add us to complain about something like everyone does.
New Homepage
The homepage will now immediately show you the latest news and all the important links so you don't have to deep dive into several menus to find them.
Points for bug reports
You will now be rewarded with points (that you can see here) for all the bugs you report, any kind of bug.
Only the very first reporter will be rewarded.
This change is NOT retroactive. This means that if you reported a bug before this post it will not be rewarded.
Each bug report will make you earn a different amount of points depending on the severity of the bug.
Giveaway Announcement
That's right, it's that time of the year again. This Saturday at around 8.00 PM (GMT+1) we'll host a new giveaway on our Discord.

New website
Yes it's finally here!
It's been awhile since we've last updated our website and as some of you already noticed issues started piling up (players were unable to login, etc).
Sadly forums have to go (for now) and we will use discord as our primary way to communicate with players. There were simply too many issues with them also less and less players kept using them.
We're thrilled to announce that with new website we will keep adding new features! That includes automated rewards for top players on leaderboards and staff members (including our secret AHT).
As always, if you find any bugs or errors please report them so that we can fix them :)
Another things to mention, and some of you already noticed that, we're in process of upgrading our servers to ensure best possible user experience after that we have planned massive ingame updates.
Oh... and if you missed it, we also have new logo ;)
