Suggestion #7455

Earlier there was a suggestion on the topic of removing the starter kit as a whole, if that is too much to do I believe that changes to the kit can at least be made. To start off with I'd like to say the removal of wood, wood is an essential block in Minecraft for many reason. However, I think it would make more sense if this block was more scarce allowing for new players to go out and search for their own materials. When you start the game, all you need to do is go into the nether portal and walk as far as you can. The only reason they need to do anything else is if they run out of food which they already start off with a lot. When coming out of the spawn walls wood isn't that difficult to find and new players have no need to scavenge around for materials. If this happens players will move around spawn in search of items like wood. Now moving on to the diamond tools, I very much think that it's too much for the new players when they join the game to start with tools made out of the top material, diamond. Even if all tools were kept diamond, it is the diamond pickaxe that affects the most. Instantly they joined they can mine obsidian right away. Craft a nether portal, or do something else. They start off with the top non-enchanted tools and weapons and have no need to go underground in search of something to improve what they already have. Of course, they can go mining for more diamonds, however, it becomes more of a necessity it's something they don't already have. Speaking of the nether portals, it'd be great if the spawn nether portal was removed however that would be needed for another suggestion. I think iron tools make more sense rather than a diamond as it provides another necessity for new players to go out and search for. Also I do think Vote Crate rewards should be minimized in terms of the ores it offers however that too will need another suggestion.
