Revised EC Ban System (Unban All)

This post is being inscribed by a group of people who are affixed to Extremecraft to outline and discuss dilemmas regarding the current state of the server. We authentically care about the server and hope to achieve the opportune solutions to the issues we’re about to cover.

Section A

Statistical Analysis
We have taken the time in the previous week to consider the Extremecraft player count in the course of recent years and we made an honest effort to get a rough estimate, at that point we built a plotted chart graph to diagram a rough estimate of how the players tally of the server has been pervading the years from 2016 as far as possible up to 2020. In this diagram, we will profoundly recognize and elucidate how the chart's plots have been adjusted by all out and huge occasions. (Mass unban, updated anti-cheat , and so on)

Extremecraft has finished its thriving year of 2016 at an average of 1630 players. Followed by a more prosperous year, 2017, Extremecraft has descried a principal increment in the quantity of average players. Arriving at the apex of progression, at a normal of 2120 players. By finishing the year 2017 with a normal of 1721, 2017 is viewed as a blizzard in a rainfall for Extremecraft. In 2018, regardless of as yet being notorious for its euphoric and amusing climate, Extremecraft has confronted a fairly unpleasant year in contrast with its forerunner partners. Finishing with an average of 1297 players. 2019 accompanies an astounding impact as the upper administration team concluded that the time had come to do an unban all occasion. A colossal expansion in player tally followed by, soon after the mass unban where players have passed an incredible 1782 normal players without precedent for an extended period of time. 2019 sustains to optically observe a plenty of variance regarding player tally. By May-June, with the joining of the flawlessly fresh and updated anti-cheat, Extremecraft hits a stunning purpose of 1879 players. Finishing the year with 1405 averaged players.

2020 has been cursed with a deadly pandemic as we as a whole ken. Schools, occupations, strict sanctuaries, temples and mosques have all been vaporously shut to forfend occupants from the infection. Considering about the conditions, Extremecraft was expected to be flourishing during this season. Both monetarily and environmentally with enhanced and enriched positive players. Startlingly, the absolute opposite happened. That is because of a few reasons. Some of which are more critical than others.

The Problem with Extremecraft's Punishment System:
Extremecraft has always had some issues with their punishment model. The current model is that a great deal of offenses will lead to a permanent ban. This is problematic for several reasons.

Ridiculously strict punishments
First off, the ways in which a permanent ban can be received are unnecessarily strict. You can be banned for having a blatant hacked client on your desktop, even if you've never used it on EC and have never triggered logs to suggest so.
Another way you can get permanently banned is through chat logs. Players have been banned for making jokes about cheating or world downloading in chat, which have reflected into a permanent ban for an offense that may or may not have ever happened.
The rules regarding how easy it is to receive one of these bans should be changed, as they're causing a massive deficit in the player base.

Damage to server and playerbase
The second issue is the way permanent bans harm the Extremecraft community and economy. The sudden removal of prominent players has caused much of Extremecraft's rich player base to dwindle. Servers like survival and factions, which were at one point active for the entirety of seasons, have become desolate, with just a few dozen players online. This marks the leaving of many content creators that brought in hype and publicity for the server. Many of these creators were based around the so-called "OG'' community of EC, which had many veteran players.

The issue is, after a certain amount of bans and offenses, you're banned from the server with no opportunity of returning. With the years of playtime these players have invested, as well as the strictness of the punishment system, it's no surprise that so many well-known players have been removed from the community.

The damage to the server’s opportunities has also been evident. The wide-spread permanent banning of individuals has led to player counts dwindling, and the server becoming less exciting, thus reducing the attraction and appeal of the server. The server, of course, also loses out on critical opportunities to sell keys, kits, and ranks, which will reduce the budget for further development of the server.

Suggestions
Cheating punishments (Currently 1st offense, permanent ban)
- 1st offense, 1 month tempban
- 2nd offense, 3 month tempban
- 3rd offense, 6 month tempban
- 4th+ offense, 1 year ban
Abolish the limit of one purchased unban, instead allowing for players to remove a month off of their ban for a certain amount of money.
Abolish the “no unban” permanent bans, and instead replace them with a 1 year ban for repeat offenses. Do not allow for unbans to be purchased for this punishment.
Perform one final unban all. Offenders who cheat/exploit, or break any other major rule should be moved immediately to the 3rd offense of 6 months tempban.
Keep the permanent ban for players who have in any way seriously threatened the security/safety of the server or players.

Honesty
Obviously, there’s a lot of people who are banned, who are advocating for this unban all and reform. It’s true, a lot of them want to be back, they want to engage in the community, and they want to play on the server again. There’s no disguising the effort here. We’re being completely honest. Some of us will be repeat offenders, or find ourselves in unfortunate situations. That’s the reality that comes with refreshing the community, and the server’s health. With the new system, you can make sure that these offenders will face a long period of reflection, before rejoining the community. Some of us have changed, and wisened up to breaking the rules. Give us, and the server, another chance to be great.

What works?
Honestly, Extremecraft may be one of the richest communities ever. It’s tightly-knit, and there’s a lot of potential for the server. The adoption of a temporary ban system would help improve it. With escalating temporary bans of up to a year, like Hypixel’s ban model, it would reduce the amount of degradation that the community experiences. The deterrent would still be there, warning any potential cheaters or exploiters of a lengthy ban that they may face, should they break the rules. Without some long-term solution, the only way the community can refresh itself is through an uncommon and unreliable source: An unban all.

A last unban all
We want to see Extremecraft continue to have the spark and appeal that it had shortly after the unban all. That period was fantastic, with consistent youtuber activity, and an active player base across several servers. The details will be yours to decide, but we hope you’ll accept the notion that an unban all would absolutely help revitalize the server. And with some reforms and improvements upon the current punishment system, we could see the server continue to flourish for a long while afterwards.

So yeah, that’s why we want an unban all. It’s not a perfect system that we’re suggesting, and I’m sure you can improve upon it. And it’s not a perfect player base that we have. There will be some rule breakers among us. However, we implore you to make these changes, and give the legions of banned players another opportunity. Extremecraft will not become lawless, or struggle to punish those who deserve it. It will be given a new lease on life, with new and old youtubers, new and old videos, new and old players, and new and old funds for development of solutions and gamemodes. This opportunity for an unban all, should you choose to grasp it, should be the last reawakening of Extremecraft, and a catalyst for improvement.

Section C

Business standpoint
This section of the forum document will be divided into three parts to further explain the importance of carrying out an unban all

(1) Income

Being predominant and first, expanded income will arise with the occasion. This is because of the players needing to go through cash to make up for lost time where they have left of, or to increase highest prevalence over their opponents. Expanded pay will come from the money players spend on (Spawners, Cosmetics like trails or face emojis, additional utilities like player vaults, homes .. you get the gist)

(2) Player diversity

At the point when the mass unban occurs, hundreds of players will return to Extremecraft. Beside going through heaps of cash, they are likewise going to drag their companions and opponents with them to a possibly, more euphoric and engaging server with different fun game modes. This will significantly affect the quantity of players. On the off chance that the vital advances are done properly and effectively, Extremecraft is relied upon to hit the zenith of greatness and keep on sending on with its progression. Because of the different game modes accessible on Extremecraft, this solitary implies that there is a game mode for everyone out there ready to check the worker out. Furthermore, we're practically sure that the inspiration of evaluating Extremecraft will be at any rate multiple times higher when you're mindful that your banned friends can now likewise go along with you on your Minecraft experience in the game modes of the server.

(3) Diversity of opinion

When Extremecraft is presented to the new players and the invigorated restored network, its discussions will be very free to join in and like the groundbreaking thoughts players will propose for (gamemodes, titles, store makeup, and so on) with that being done, new gamemodes might arise and the server could keep on developing dramatically and climb up the servers hierarchy ranks. We, as "OG" players solidly believe that Extremecraft is more than capable to compete on the hierarchy ladder with other premium servers and come out victorious if necessary steps are done.
