Hardcore Survival

Hardcore Survival
Experience the original Minecraft gameplay but with other players!

How it works:
Since survival is the most popular server on EC, a further version of it would probably be popular too. A random survival Minecraft world just like it is in Singleplayer mode. Difficulty should be set to hard. The mode would work best in 1.12+ since there are even more rare items and some biomes became extremely rare, especially with the large biomes setting. Players won’t be able to help themselves with money. All they will be able to do is trade with other players and villagers, which means, there will be no /shop. There should be a few valuables on the server that can be sold to obtain some kind of currency or some sort of score that people can use to compare themselves with others. A villager plugin will be needed to customize their offers. The spawn of the server should be rather simple, realistic. There should be a PvP arena, which could be quite interesting since people have to craft their armour and weapons themselves and they would all be unique and not just the basic kits like on the other servers. Since the money-making techniques* from other servers won’t work here, people will have the challenge of finding new way to gain money fast. Players will be able to claim land to build bases or whatever they want but since there will be no /wild, they will have to walk away from the spawn to find a place they can claim. Players should only be able to set one home, only on their own claimed land, no matter what rank they are and /tpa and /tpahere should still be available.

Missing features:
Commands: Disable most commands completely or create some quests to unlock them. The certain ranks will still be needed for the commands and the quests should be rather hard. (/wild, /feed, /ptime, /pweather, /enderchest, /workbench, /skull, /sell, /fix, /smelt, /heal, /nightvision, /spawnmob, /pv, /enchant, etc.)
Kits: Disable completely or make them really basic. Kits should only include leather armour parts, maybe iron with extreme/nexus and stone weapons, also with rather low level enchanting. Another possibility is adding different things to the kits, similar to the items you can get from crates.
End: Should be disabled because it’s small and it would be too valuable if someone found it.
Crates: Disable completely or make sure there are only low-value and not too helpful items you can win. (cobblestone, dirt, wood, coal, enchanted leather armours, stone tools, different types of food or basic seeds, etc.)
Items: The server should only have items that can be found in a normal Minecraft world. There will be no buyable spawners and none you could get in crates. The only way is silking spawners that people find in the world (zombie, skeleton, spider, cave spider, silverfish and blaze can be found). Silking spawners should be allowed to all players, since spawners are extremely rare anyway. Also, people shouldn’t be able to change the spawners with eggs, but there shouldn’t be any eggs on the server anyway.

Valuables:
Minerals: coal, iron, gold, redstone, lapis lazuli, diamonds, emeralds,
Rare blocks: Mycelium, Podzol, red sand, sponge
Hard to craft: bricks, concrete, terracotta, glazed terracotta, red nether brick, red nether brick wall, nether star, nether star, beacon, potions, TNT, enchanted golden apple, juke box, enchantment table, book, cake, lead
Hard to obtain: ice, packed ice, prismarine, sea lantern, coral block (under water), obsidian, certain mob drops (blaze rods, slime balls, gunpowder, magma balls, ender pearls, ghast tear, wither skeleton skull, mob head, fish, totem of undying, egg), melon, cocoa, pumpkin
Rare items: saddle, horse armour, music disc, name tag, chain armour, heart of the sea, bottle o’ enchanting,

Cons:
Ranks: might not be worth it on the server, lower sales if people play on the hardcore survival server mainly. The ranks should still give people an advantage but not a huge leap by giving them protection V diamond armours and tons of valuable things.
X-Ray: People using it can get a huge advantage and ruin the server’s economy. Anti-X-Ray and/or Orebfuscator could be a solution though.
New: Everything must be calculated so the economy works. Optimizations might be needed from time to time until it works out.

*List of automatic/AFK farms, maybe avoid some. Players should be able to use some of them though, preferably rather unknown farms.

If it works out well, further hardcore modes can be introduced, for servers like skyblock or factions.

It didn't work out too well the first time we tried it, maybe in the future we'll try again
