Why we can t glide with elytra while we are in pvp?

Hello dear staff members
I think that gliding with elytra in combat in anarchy server should be possible.
Why? Because if we can t glide we can t use the elytra macing pvp tehnique and if we are low we can t run and use the elytra because we are in combat
This thing is a disadvantage for the players and so much of them loose the fight/loot because maybe they quick dropped and couldn t restock in time because they had no chance in running
Please change this thing about the elytra and make it good for all the players
