Dynamic Stock Market System for /shop and Hall of Fame
Introduce a Stock Market system to enhance the /shop and Hall of Fame mechanics, creating an economy where strategy, manipulation, and market trends matter.
Current System:
> /shop rotates weekly with a limited list of sellable items.
> Players can sell items for either money or Hall of Fame points (equal to the item's price).
> The rotation encourages diverse farming strategies to win the Hall of Fame.
Suggested Addition: Stock Market System (/stocks)
1. Introduce /stocks as a new menu, visually similar to /shop.
2. Players can buy/sell stock of items instead of the items themselves.
3. When stock is purchased, players receive a "stock certificate" (a custom paper item) that can be sold whenever.
4. Stock prices are dynamic, like how /shop prices worked before rotations were added — based on player activity.
5. This offers an extra way to earn money by buying low and selling high.
6. Stocks cannot be redeemed for Hall of Fame points.
7. New calculated item prices in /shop have a minimum cap of $1.00.
8. Note: New item prices are based on stock activity from the previous rotation only. After each weekly reset, the baseline resets to 0.0% change from the base price.
Mechanics:
1. Dynamic Pricing:
+ Item prices in the /shop are adjusted weekly based on stock trading volume.
> Heavy selling = price drops next rotation.
> Heavy buying = price increases next rotation.
2. Price Indicators in /shop:
+ Each item in /shop shows a + or - indicator below the item description.
> + = price will increase next rotation.
> - = price will decrease.
+ This gives players hints on future market trends for better decision-making.
3. Market Manipulation:
+ Players can strategically buy or sell stock to influence future prices.
+ Opens up opportunities for economic sabotage — e.g., crashing redstone prices to hurt a competitor’s witch farm. >;D
+ Or, hoard stock in an item and raise its price to boost profits from your own farms (at least for the next rotation).
+ Since no one knows which items will appear in the next /shop rotation, this introduces a risk vs. reward element.
4. Hall of Fame Strategy:
+ Adds a long-term planning layer around selling items vs. holding stock.
+ Smart market plays = higher profits and more Hall of Fame points.Posted in General for GLOBAL, status open, Upvotes: 5, Downvotes: -5
