Fix skygrid spawn
When a new player joins skygrid, they often ignore the holograms indicating that they need to do /wild. As a result, they jump straight into the void and quit before making any progress As well as this, many active players will note that there are many messages sent each day asking 'How do I start???' or 'How do I leave spawn???'. Perhaps it would be wise to change spawn slightly to prevent this. Here are my ideas:
1. Walls
The easiest solution would be to add walls made of barrier blocks to prevent people jumping off. However, this still does not teach the players to do /wild, it simply prevents them from dying instantly. A few extra holograms nearby to the walls would be useful in this situation.
2. A Portal
You could add a portal directly ahead of the spawn point which does /wild for the player. This would be slightly harder to implement, but absolutely not impossible. This would also still make it possible to leave spawn by jumping off/flying with elytra.
3. Teleports all around
You could also make the surrounding area of spawn act in a similar way to the portal, instantly teleporting the player to a random location when jumping off the edge of spawn. However, this would also act as a block for active players to leave spawn by flying.
In a similar light, you could teleport players who jump off of spawn back to spawn and leave a message in chat telling them to /wild to begin.
4. Change starter kit
You could change the starter kit so that new players spawn with an elytra and rockets, making it harder for new players to instantly die in the void, although this may be less accessible to players who do not know how to use an elytra.
5. Spawn in wild
You could make it so that new players instantly spawn in wild, or are prompted immediately with the /wild GUI.
There are, obviously, other solutions available. These are just a few that I have seen implemented in other servers, and ones that make the most sense in my opinion. Changing this could improve quality of life and give new players a little help in starting.
