Stacked mobs/spawners
With the addition of souls, mob farms (that actually spawn mobs) already have and will become more popular again. But that brings the issue of lag. I currently own one of the ''fastest'' souls farm on the survival server and the majority of people are complaining about the lag/FPS issues it causes, since there are multiple stacks of pistons and Redstone as well as hundreds of spawners going off at once.
I think a simple solution that would fix that is to bring back stacked mobs. That way the farms don't need to use as many pistons and there will also be less entities spawning and cramping which will lower the lag drastically. Although I am not sure how the sweeping edge enchant would work with stacked mobs, perhaps it could kill off multiple mobs of the mob stack instead of just one depending on the level.
If you do decide to bring back stacked mobs, you could also add stacked spawners, which would help the lag even more. As it would make farms even smaller (less pistons/Redstone) and there would be less individual spawners which by themselves cause lag. I understand that stacked spawners will clash with the souls-upgrade system, but there is surely a way around that.
